fennelPart of the parsley family, the fennel plants and seeds have ancient medicinal properties and are also popular culinary ingredients.

FENNEL PROPERTIES

Fennel is well known for its anti-spasmodic, analgesic and diuretic properties. It can be used to ease digestive problems, combat fluid retention and reduce intestinal spasms. Because it aids elimination of toxins through the urine, it is also a useful remedy for arthritis and gout. Its volatile oils have antiseptics effects, particularly useful for urinary infections.

In the Middle Ages fennel was considered to be an antidote to witchcraft.
