echinaceaAlso known as purple coneflower, there are various species of echinacea, all of which have been therapeutically effective throughout history.

ECHINACEA PROPERTIES

Known as a non-specific immuno-stimulant, this herb has been shown to increase white blood cell count and promote respiratory cellular activity. It is used for colds, influenza, ear infections, chronic fatigue and allergies. Its anti-viral properties appear to be due to the stimulation of interferon-like effects. Traditionally, echinacea has also been used to promote healing and reduce inflammation, both internally for conditions such as colitis, and externally for aliments such as acne.
