pregnancy stretchmarksDuring pregnancy your increased blood flow will probably make you feel warmer than usual and, as a result, you’ll sweat more easily than you usually do, Make time for a daily, or even twice daily, bath or shower – use warm water rather than hot, as hot water will open your pores and make you even more likely to sweat. If your skin is feeling dry, a light aqueous cream can be used as a sopa substitute or as a moisturizing skin cream, wich should be applied after washing, while your skin is still wet.

HOW TO PREVENT SWEATING

You also can help to prevent sweating by choosing cotton rather than syntetic underwear, and if you wear tights, opt for types with cotton-lined gussets. Wear clothes made of natural rather than synthetic fibres to help you to stay cooler.

FOUR WAYS TO MINIMIZE STRETCHMARKS

  1. Eat sensibly and avoid gaining too much weight. If you gain a great deal of weight in a short space of time, your skin won’t have a chance to adapt and will have to stretch to accomodate you new shape.
  2. Wear a well-fitting bra throughout your pregnancy. Keep your growing breasts adequately supported as they become heavier.
  3. Wear a sleep bra if your breasts are large. Looking after your breasts during the day isn’t enough – they need 24-hour care.
  4. Keep your skin supple and itch-free. Massage cream into your breasts and tummy to elasticize your skin. Cocoa butter or almond oil extract – available from pharmacists and herbalists – have proved effective for some women. Try a morning and evening massage.
